11-year-old wows GCGT scouts in Port Harcourt audition

On Friday, April 21, 2017, God’s Children Great Talent (GCGT) season 7 officially hit Port Harcourt with hundreds of expectant contestants happily waiting as early as 7am at Hotel Presidential, Aba Road.

Port Harcourt’s finest entertainment and media personalities that included dancehall artiste, Duncan Mighty, Nigerian gospel artiste Preye Odede, and radio presenter, Eldee Xtra Large were there to spot talent at the auditions.

Others there to spot include talented Gospel singer, Preye Omayuku, Nigeria’s beloved singer, Freke Umoh, Gospel artiste, Afy Douglas, Singer Choreographer, Bobby Blankson, Season 2 winner of Nigerian Idol, Mercy Chinwe and popular Nigerian comedian, K.O Baba were present to spot great talents amidst contestants who showed up for the auditions.

The Port Harcourt audition had youngsters between ages five to 20 years as they showcased talents in Music, Comedy, Dance and Spoken Word before scouts during preliminary selection.

Highlight of the audition was when 11-year-old Nengi Jaja wowed the Port Harcourt scouts with his amazing voice.

His performance got Duncan Mighty and other scouts to request for a photo opportunity with the ‘rising star’, a moniker which Duncan Mighty referred to him.

Other contestants who couldn’t contain joy at expressing God’s talent in them proudly showcased it outside the audition venue, leaving no one in doubt that great talents abound in the southern region of the country.

Interested participants who missed audition opportunity in Port Harcourt can register for the Lagos auditions by walking into the venue on April 28 and 29, 2017 at Ultima Studios, Lekki, Lagos by 7:30am.

God’s Children Great talent (GCGT) is Africa’s Biggest Youth Talent Competition. An initiative by City of David Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God that continues to identify and celebrate talents in children and young adults from age five to 20 years.
