Abia: A’Court judgment panacea for stability—PDP CHIEFTAIN

UMUAHIA—A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP chieftain and former Special Assistant to Dr. Alex Ekwueme, Mr. Ben Onyechere, has described the judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal on the Abia state governorship election as a veritable land mark and reference point with the capacity to prevent political adventurism.

According to him, the judiciary in its original state is the only instrument of political stability without which democracy can neither thrive nor survive which is the reason that judgment has been generally applauded as popular and exemplary.

He said: “The Abia imbroglio is peculiarly intriguing for which reason the appeal court judgment in favour of the government and people of Abia is spectacularly affirmative that the voice of the majority can hardly be subdued through any instrument of perversion.

“The quest to achieve tranquility and equity in Abia polity has come a long way and the attempt to derail it can best be described as senile and mischievous.”

He further said: “It is pertinent to inform Uche Orga and his cohorts that their intrusion in the smooth running of governance in Abia will certainly take its toll in their future political interests because they have continually insulted the sensibilities of Abia people by this protracted and needless infractions.

“In spite of the doggedness of Governor Ikpeazu as a human being, he is bound to be distracted from the implementation of his programmes. In Abia State, it is public knowledge that there is enormous work to be done which requires mental and physical focus particularly with the peculiar terrain and numerous federal roads that criss-cross the length and breath of the state.

“Therefore, rather than continue in the meaningless interjection, they should embrace patriotism as good party men.”
