Akwa Ibom community chides PDP

The Edemaya Community in Akwa Ibom under the aegis of Edemaya Progressive Association has alleged that they have been marginalised by the PDP since the inception of democracy in 1999.

A complaint letter signed by the president of the association, Mr Kufre Akpan, and Secretary, Mr Ubong Micah, expressed displeasure over the continual denial of the area from producing a member to represent Ikot Abasi/Eastern Obolo State Constituency in the House of Assembly.

The community said it supported zoning arrangement to ensure equity, justice and fairness to all concerned in the political arrangement of Ikot Abasi/Eastern Obolo State Constituency.

The community therefore warned that any political party that denied it the opportunity of producing the next representative in the State House of Assembly would do so at the risk of losing the clan’s electoral support in the forthcoming elections.
