Edo Assembly speaker receives NMA Award


The national leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has honoured the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA) Speaker, Justin Okonoboh, for his sterling leadership qualities and numerous contributions to the medical profession.

EDHA Speaker, Okonoboh, who was the special recipient of the NMA Award, was honoured for his contribution to humanity and recognition for service to Edo state, at the Edo state NMA Secretariat in Benin City, Edo state capital.

He was bestowed with the association’s award of Excellence, at the NMA Dinner/inauguration of it newly elected executives to pilot the affairs of the association in the next two years under the dynamic leadership of a newly elected Edo state NMA chairman, Dr. Emmanuel Osaigbovo.

Speaking at the occasion, the immediate past NMA Chairman, Prof Afekhide Ernest Omoti while presenting the award on behalf the national leadership of the Kayode Obembe led Exco, stated that the speaker of the Edo State House of Assemblywas presented with the award for his efforts to promote the fortunes of the medical profession.

Okonoboh, who is a medical doctor, and a member of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), pledged his unwavering support and contribution to the association, “this is my primary constituency,and in my capacity as the Edo state House of Assembly, Speaker, I will promote and take activities of the NMA in Edo state to greater heights,” he assured.

Dignitaries who graced the dinner include, medical practitioners from within and outside the state, political office holders, academias, captains of industries, medical students affiliates and a host of other professional bodies in the state.
