El Kanemi Warriors coach, Ernest Eziwo has revealed that they have put their defeat to Rivers United in Port Harcourt last Sunday behind them as they target their first victory of the season against Abia Warriors on Wednesday.
The Borno Army arrived Maiduguri on Tuesday afternoon after they passed the night in Bauchi and Eziwo who is the acting coach in the absence of Imama Amapakabo who is away with the senior national team said that they were unlucky to be beaten by the Pride of Rivers in their first game of the season.
“We are back to our base and are preparing for the game with Abia Warriors on Wednesday. We had to break the journey into two after we got to Bauchi on Monday night. It was easier plying the way home from there on Tuesday morning,” Eziwo told Goal.
“We are unruffled by our lost to Rivers United last weekend because I know that the players put in their very best in Port Harcourt. Now that we are back home, we shall be involved in just light training to shake off fatigue and hope for the best against Abia Warriors.
“We have had the best of pre-season and now that the season has started we deserve to be placed among the top. We are going to show Abia Warriors that we do not deserve to be beaten in Port Harcourt.”
