Gov aspirant promises to uplift Imo

A governorship aspirant in Imo State, Mr. Chidi Okoro, has said he possesses the “alternative reality” that will uplift the state.

Okoro, who is a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, said he was urged to throw his hat into the ring to join in the development of the state.

The pharmacist, who spoke during a press conference in Lagos, said he worked across different industries in the private sector, adding that people of the state were his major political structure.

He said, “Imo people want to see competence, character; they want to see performance, they want to see excellence, they want their lives to be better. Imo presents a fantastic opportunity; at the moment we are not harnessing that opportunity. It is a state that is an hour from major industrial-commercial cities like Onitsha, Nnewi, Port Harcourt, Aba but have no industries, unemployment is rife and this is about to change for good.’’

According to him, when he shares his blueprint at the right time, the people will buy into it massively.

“I don’t think there is a structure better than the people of Imo State. The people who every day struggle to make ends meet, who haven’t been paid salaries for some months. They would be happy to build and facilitate a structure for me when the time comes, ’’ he added.

He also said that his blueprint would deliver dividends of democracy and sustainable development in a structured way to the state and the people in general.

Okoro added, “We have a superior blueprint, that’s what will be our driving force. The other thing I am bringing to the table is the ability to execute plan, prioritise and prioritise effectively. That’s critical and that’s what we are coming up with.’’
