Group to Abia APGA factional leaders: Don’t destabilize party

Alliance of Pressure Groups (APG), a body of some political pressure groups from the South East and South South geopolitical zones have warned the factional leaders in the Abia State chapter of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to desist from acts that could mar the party’s chances of winning the 2019 governorship election in the state.

The groups while issuing the warning to those they described as renegade officials of the party, cautioned them to avoid acts that could truncate the expected gains of the efforts the party has already put in to reclaim Abia from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a communiqué issued at the end of their crucial meeting in Umuahia, APG expressed regret that some officials of APGA in Abia State who are operating outside the State Secretariat of the party at Ikot Ekpene Road by School Road, Umuahia have become tools and agents of destruction in the hands of an opposing political party.

Part of the communiqué reads: “APG has noted with dismay that some officials of APGA in Abia State who are operating outside the State Secretariat of the party on Ikot Ekpene by School Road, Umuahia have become tools in the hands of an opposing political party in the state to destabilize APGA.

“Aware of the grievous danger which the evil intentions and mission of these renegade APGA officials portend to Abia State, we have taken a firm decision to explore all possible means to thwart the intended sabotage against APGA.”
