Hoodlums destroy 60 disco facilities in Bayelsa

The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company  yesterday attributed its inability provide power supply in Bayelsa State to the destruction of its over 60 installations and facilities in Bayelsa State, by hoodlums.

Speaking during a customers and stakeholders’ meeting in Yenagoa, the spokesperson of PHEDC, Mr John Onyi, asked residents to always report any suspicious movement around electricity facilities to the security agencies.

Bayelsa State Chairman of Civil Liberty Organization, Alabo Nengi James, accused some PHEDC officials of conniving with criminals in the state to steal armored cables and other parts of transformers.
