The governorship candidate of  Action Alliance in Imo State, Uche Nwosu, has promised to empower 100,000  women and youths in his first year in office if elected.

Nwosu said his administration would focus on eradicating poverty in rural  areas  through investment in agriculture and Small and Medium Scale Enterprises.

He  spoke in the Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of the state on Saturday during his campaign  tour of LGAs.

Nwosu, who is Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law,  promised that pregnant women, children and people above  75 years would have access to quality and free medical care  under his administration.

He said, “This is my contractual agreement with  women and youths. I will empower 100,000 women and youths across the state.

“I will not only sustain the free education programme but I will digitalise the school system in the state. We are also going to provide intervention funds for rural women who engage in petty trading. I empowered  youths and women when I was the Chief of Staff. I will do more when elected governor.

“We will vote for President Buhari on Saturday, his victory is already sealed and delivered. AA promised to give him one million votes and we are going to keep our promise.”
