The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has begun the revalidation of the members of the party in the 305 political wards in the state.
The state Chairman of the party, Daniel Nwafor, said this shortly after he inaugurated the chairmen for the 27 council areas in the state.
He said that the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, on Tuesday in Abuja, charged him to work with everybody in the party’s interest.
Nwafor explained that the revalidation of the party members across the state would deepen the APC and make it more vibrant at the grass-roots.
According to him, the APC in the state will work for the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari because it is the right thing to do.
Nwafor said “This is a new dawn. It is a period of reawakening for the party. I will run an open-door policy and I have vowed to do good to all members. I have vowed to unite the party and reconcile all aggrieved members of our party.
“The APC in Imo State will work for the success of the party in the South-East and the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari and we will support Governor Rochas Okorocha.
“In Nigeria, we have one APC under the leadership of Adams Oshiomhole. In Imo State, crisis will not tear us apart. The APC is growing in leaps and in bounds.’’
He added that the APC would win all the elective positions in Imo State in 2019 because the party would present credible and competent candidates.
“We are working hard to win the confidence of the electorate because we are aware that political power belongs to the people,’’ he said.
