Jubilation As Asaba Airport Receives First International Flight


It ferried Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles to South Africa ahead of the Nations Cup Qualifier with Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

The aircraft, Boeing 737 belonging to max air, a Nigerian airline landed at Asaba international airport at exactly 5:22 pm and was received by officials of delta state government led by the secretary to the state government, Festus Ovie Agas and a delegation from the palace of Asagba of Asaba

The inaugural landing of the Boeing aircraft and the arrival of the super eagles for their onward movement to South Africa threw the Asaba airport into a frenzy.

Governor Okowa said the upgrade of the airport runway; provision of perimeter fencing and others necessitated NCAA’s provisional approval for the airlift of the super eagles.
