Kalu woos IBB for Buhari’s re-election bid

A former governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu, yesterday visited former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi, in Minna to canvass support for the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Addressing newsmen after meeting with Babangida, Kalu said he was in Minna to explain to Babangida why Buhari must be supported for a second term.
“I am in Minna to campaign for President Buhari because I have seen a lot of PDP people trooping in to visit IBB and I felt we should not be left behind.
“I have come to have a heart to heart talk with the former President and convince him why he should allow and support President Buhari to finish his second tenure”, he explained.
The former governor was however evasive when asked about the outcome of the meeting, saying, “his reaction was blue and white, we have discussed and he said he is thinking about it. February 16 is still a long way to go and we will continue talking, however, it is a positive reaction.”
Kalu, who said Buhari deserved a second term, said the president represents a new hope for the country.
He said his belief in Buhari’s ability to take the country out of the woods informed his decision to be in the forefront of the campaign for his reelection.
“President Buhari is already in half time now, he has played four years and in soccer, you have 90 minutes game, he has played 45 minutes and we are appealing to Nigerians to give him another 45 minutes to play. It would make more sense and would be very nice. “
On the whereabouts of the leader of the Independent People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, the former governor insisted that he was in London.
