Following the very heavy downpour several parts of Nigeria have been experiencing, most people have suffered experienced loss of properties due to flooding.
Since the start of the 2017 rainy season, a lot of properties have been lost to the flood and most people have had to spend ridiculous amounts of money just to fix what the rains destroyed.
Even though most people ascribed flood to Lagos residents due to the fact that it’s a coastal state and was prone to flooding, some residents of Port Harcourt, Rivers state, were taken by surprise when it ‘became their turn’.
Some of those people, are members of Greenvine International Christian Centre, Port Harcourt, who had to participate in a church service inside their flooded auditorium.
According to reports, the rain fell from Saturday and continued till Sunday, leaving the auditorium and most parts of the state flooded.
This did not deter the pastor and some members of his congregation who chose to defy the flood to worship on Sunday morning. The pastor was even quoted as saying “this is when we need to practice what we preach as our faith is being tested.”
