The member representing Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta, Oru West Federal Constituency of Imo State, Goodluck Opiah, on Saturday, said the Niger Delta Development Commissioner was no longer marginalising the  people of the oil-producing communities in the state.

Opiah said his intervention through the green chamber of the National Assembly since his election in 2015 made NDDC to start allocating what was due to his constituents.

He stated this in Owerri while addressing supporters on his success in the party primary held recently in the state.

Opiah, a former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, said, “The whole scenario has changed since 2015 that I got to the National Assembly. If you look at the budgets from 2015, you will understand that NDDC projects are no longer sited in Mbaise and Mbano. NDDC projects for Imo State are now sited in the domain of those who produce the oil.”

He also said the crisis rocking the state chapter of the APC would end on November 2, when INEC would publish the names of the authentic governorship candidate of the party in the state.
