The tactician disclosed the reason behind him leaving his post as the Owena Whales handler, and gave an update to his current situation with the agency
Kayode Olujohungbe reveals he is still on the payroll of Ondo State Football Agency after he was told to step aside as the coach of Sunshine Stars.
Olujohungbe said he was asked to give up power at the helms of the Owena Whales by the state’s football agency.
And he was replaced with Austin Eguavoen who also has since resigned his post as gaffer of the Akure side.
“I am not desperate for a job, the Ondo State Football Agency told me that I should step aside as the coach of Sunshine Stars at the time and that I am still in their employ. So, for now, I am still with ODSFA,” Olujohungbe told Goal.
“Their complaint wasn’t that I was woeful, what the three-man committee told me was that at the time I should step aside and will still be useful to ODSFA.
“So I am still on their payroll and I don’t have any complaints.
Olujohungbe also confirmed that he has been approached by some clubs but decided to stay back.
“Yes, I had some offers but felt staying back at ODSFA was the best decision for me.”
