Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has condoled with the Nigerian Army over the recent killing of three soldiers by militants in Ajakpa community.
The governor, who spoke when he paid a condolence visit to the Commanding Officer of the 19 Battalion, Okitipupa, described the death of the military personnel as regrettable.
Governor Akeredolu, who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Security, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo, said the state government would continue to provide logistics support for the military and other security agencies to carry out their functions of protecting the people.
The Commanding Officer, 19 Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Maaji, who was represented by Captain Micheal Ogundele, thanked the governor for sharing the grief of the Nigerian Army at this difficult time.
He assured the governor of the military’s commitment to the discharge of their duties.
The state government gave the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand Naira to the soldier that sustained bullet wounds and five hundred thousand naira each to the families of the three soldiers who were killed in the shoot out.
