No fewer than seven thousand small and medium entrepreneurs in Abia state, south-east Nigeria have benefited from the three hundred and eighty million naira loan under the Government’s Enterprise And Empowerment Programme, GEEP.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo gave the cheering news at an event in Umuahia to mark the disbursement of another phase of the loans.
Speaking through his special adviser, Johnson Ade the vice president praised the Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu for his commitment towards the promotion of micro, small and medium scale enterprises, MSMSE and assured the beneficiaries of continuity of the programme.
Governor Ikpeazu while describing the programme as timely, charged those who have accessed the loan facility to make good use of the funds to grow the economy..
A representative of the bank of industry, Uzoma Nwagba, said before the end of the year, about thirty thousand small and medium entrepreneurs in Abia state would have benefited from the loan scheme.
