They want the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to cancel the election and conduct fresh one or they will be forced to seek redress in court.
It was Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that first rejected the outcome of last Saturday’s House of Assembly election in the state.
But later, leaders and candidates of other political parties in Ondo town also lent their voice to the call for the cancellation of the election.
They took their protest to the secretariat of the INEC in Akure, alleging that the election was marred by large scale violence and intimidation.
However, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, which won the majority seats in the election, described the allegations as unfounded.
The APC won 23, out of the 26 seats in the state house of assembly, while the Peoples Democratic Party won 2 seats and the Zenith Labour Party got one seat.
