The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross Rivers state, Mathew Achigbe, has been reported dead.
Channels TV reports that Jerry, son of the late Achigbe, said on Sunday, November 18, that his father died in an auto crash along Afikpo road in Ebonyi state.
Legit.ng gathered that his family members described him as a principled leader and a strong admirer of President Muhammadu Buhari.
They also appealed to the national leaders of the APC to assist in keeping Achigbe’s dream alive even after his death.
The news of Achigbe’s death came a day to the official kickoff of political campaigns for parties. He had vowed to ensure victory for in the coming polls.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Moses Adeoye, the treasurer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti, was shot dead by unknown gunmen suspected to be hired assassins who stormed his residence in Otun, Moba local government area, Ekiti on Wednesday, October 17.
It was reported that a source who spoke to the press, said the gunmen didn’t take any of his valuables or properties.
Confirming the incident, Caleb Ikechukwu, Ekiti state police public relations officer, said an investigation had commenced on the matter.
