UMUAHIA—STRIKING members of the non-academic staff union, NASU, of the Abia State College of Education, Technical, Arochukwu, ASCETA, have lamented what they called total neglect of their welfare by the management of the college, saying they have been reduced from “public servants to public slaves.”

The union alleged that the school’s management has deliberately continued to refuse to look into its demands but has rather branded union members as members of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

It added that  the college management in a bid not to look into their legitimate demands  branded them members of the opposition party and alleged they were planning to hand  over the college to the opposition party in the state.

They claimed further that their chairman, Comrade Daniel Nwosu was accused by the college of “collaborating with a former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu who is now in APC to mob the provost of the college” and described all the allegations as “unfounded and costly propaganda.”
