Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has decried the manner street traders deface roads across Port Harcourt.
He spoke yesterday after stopping traders, who defaced Nkpogu roundabout on Garrison-Trans-Amadi-Elelenwo road under construction by his administration.
The governor appealed to them to sell goods at the markets, saying their activities at the roadside defaced streets.
Wike, accompanied by ex-Governor Celestine Omehia, told the traders that selling at such places endangered their lives.
He directed security operatives to work with government agencies to restore sanity.
The governor enjoined residents to support government’s efforts to improve sanitation.
